Board of Directors

  • Susan Shipley, Co-President, joined the Board of MSW in 2009, having been an active volunteer and supporter for several years. Before retiring in 2007, she held executive positions with such companies as Capital One Financial and Levi Strauss & Co., with a primary focus on corporate real estate, facilities and procurement. She holds an undergraduate degree from Rollins College and an MBA from the Wharton School. She is on the board of a private REIT and previously served on the Board of the Foundation for San Francisco's Architectural Heritage. She lives in Tiburon with her husband, Craig Allison.
  • Jacqueline Janssen, Co-President, is the Director of Transition Services at the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL). She leads a team that provides professional executive recruiting and Interim executive placement for nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining CVNL, she was CEO of Janssen & Associates, founded in 1978, providing Human Resource services and full cycle executive recruiting to small to Fortune 500 businesses. She currently serves on an Employer Advisory Board, provides coaching services to OpportunityKnocks.org, and leads the Transition Services’ Nonprofit Professional Career Development program.
    Jacqueline was one of the creators of the County of Marin’s Family Partnership Policy and leads workshops for family members. She previously served on the Marin County Mental Health Board. Jacqueline is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a member of the International Association of Feminist Economics (IAFFE). She and her family have been residents of Marin County since 1988.
  • Ray Frost, Treasurer, has thirty years experience in corporate finance, operations and accounting primarily with emerging and mid market businesses. His responsibilities have spanned everything from helping to launch startup enterprises to successful roles in turnaround engagements.
  • Jacqueline Zimmer Jones, Secretary, moved to Marin County five years ago from Oregon. While in Oregon, she was a lobbyist for seniors and persons with disabilities, a city councilor, and an advocate for numerous social causes. Upon seeing a lack of women’s health services in a conservative community with a record teenage pregnancy rate, Jacqueline acted on her vision of creating a pro-choice organization (Salem NARAL) and bringing Planned Parenthood to town to enhance and support accessible health care for all women. Jacqueline has a degree in Gerontology and a Minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. Since moving to Marin, Jacqueline has been involved with the Marin County Bicycle Coalition where she advocates for safer bike routes and also serves as a bike mentor to new cyclists. She also volunteers with the Tam Valley Community Services District.
  • Nancy Freitas Lambert, Psy.D., is a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of trauma and addiction. Nancy began her graduate studies at Dominican University in 1998 with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley in 2005. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in 2005 with the Community Institute for Psychotherapy working primarily with individuals with a history of trauma and abuse. In October 2006, she completed her post-doctoral internship with Marin County Mental Health, where she continued her focus of working with trauma survivors. She is currently a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has a private practice in San Rafael and Point Reyes Station. She is also currently the Director of Ritter Center Outreach Program where she provides weekly supervision to the interns who provide counseling services to the clients.
  • Peter Braunstein joined the MSW Board in 2011. He has been active in health care delivery for many years. His career includes an active vascular surgery practice in Berkeley, a period as Chief Medical Officer at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and a similar position at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. Peter has served as President of the East Bay Surgical Society, Councilor of the Northern California branch of the American College of Surgeons and the Northern California Society for Vascular Surgery. Since his retirement Peter has been working with physicians and physician executives in a coaching and facilitative capacity. He is a graduate of McGill Medical School and the UCSF surgical training program.
  • Patrick Mullin is a partner in the San Francisco, California office of Jackson Lewis LLP. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco (B.A., High Honors, 1972) and of the University of California, Hastings College of Law (J.D., 1976).
